LOGINventory 4.5.7 released

After the initial release of version 4.5 LOGINventory was enhanced and extended with a lot of features, which are now integrated in new version 4.5.7. These features include:

  • Documents or hyperlinks may now be linked to computers or devices
  • Enhanced support for Windows Vista
  • Accelerated scanning
  • Performance on MS-SQL-Server was increased considerably
  • and many more

We suggest everybody to switch to this version. There is no additional license fee for this update.

LOGINventory and Windows Vista or Windows XP Service Pack 2
If you use Windows Vista or Windows XP SP2 in your domain, you should configure the Windows Firewall and your Operating system for LOGINventory.
LOGINventory uses the following methods for inventory:
Ping (ICMP)
Remote Registry based on File and Print Services
WMI based on RPC (optional)
All these methods are suppressed by the default settings. Our whitepapers will help to adjust your clients.
