You will soon find LOGINventory's many new possibilities to be indispensable. LOGINventory offers many advantages compared to conventional inventory programs - and is available independently of any larger software suite.
LOGINventory Conventional Software
No installation is needed on the client. Clients have to be prepared for use with the tool.
Registry scanning to determine installed software. Hard disc scanning for predefined executable files.
Remote, and optionally local, querying of PCs. Only local execution possible.
Normal usage of the client is not impaired. Uses approximately 50 % of the client's computing resources during the query, significantly impairing normal usage of the client.
Version independent; no changes necessary for expansion or technology changes. Constant updates to the software database are needed.
Variable database structure allows additional information to be added. Rigid database structure.
All licenses are found. Only predefined licenses can be found.
Rapid analysis of large networks with parallel scanning. Client queries require user to log on locally.
Operating systems: 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. Every operating system variant has to be supported separately.
Any processor type. Usually only Intel IA32.
Price: 4 EUR per PC for 500 PCs. 12 - 50 EUR per PC for 500 PCs.
System Requirements
Client: Any Windows-based PC with any processor type: Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista.
Network-Protocol: TCP/IP, SNMP (for scanning function).
Management Station: Windows NT 4.0, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista with IE5.0 or above; Intel Pentium II or greater; domain administrator privileges.
Database: Microsoft Jet (included); Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Desktop Engine; Oracle 8/9/10; MySQL; PostgreSQL.
